How to Repair Bifold Door Top Roller Guide

If your bifold doors are sticking and squeaking, they may need a little maintenance. You may have to clean, lubricate or adjust them. The problem may be caused by loose screws on the top pivot or the top roller guide.

Take the door off

It may seem complicated and difficult to install the bifold internal doors, but for those who are DIYers with some experience, it is actually quite simple. Moving the frame isn't a major issue; the tricky part is getting the doors to fold and close quickly and precisely. As bifold doors are complex machines, they may need some tuning to keep working properly. This might be something as simple as tightening a screw or as complex as taking out the door and replacing the pivot pin or roller.

The majority times, you can solve these issues by making a few simple adjustments, without having to remove the doors. You may find that your doors are sliding or scraping the floor, or that they are jumping out of their tracks.
