Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or jogging. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver, even in tight spaces.

For an easy ride, opt for a pram with air-filled tyres. Also, look for models with 360deg front swivel wheels. They are, however, susceptible, to punctures. Be prepared with an emergency repair kit.

Sturdy frame

New figures show that the three-wheeled buggies, that symbol of the noughties that were more expensive than common sense, are in rapid decline. They've been replaced with four-wheelers which can handle a wider variety of terrain, while still looking elegant and easy to push.

The larger the wheels are, the more your buggy will be able to deal with uneven surfaces and bumpy pavements. With larger wheels front and back makes it much easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or on difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on an infant and a toddler and found it to be extremely sturdy. It handled cobbles, grass, and rough pavements as well as dirt tracks and kerbs. She noted that it was solid to push and very solid on difficult terrain. The tyres, that are inflatable and need to be pumped regularly and have a suspension built-in. This was very comfortable for my kids.

Another thing to take into consideration is the seat size and shape. It is important for the seat to be large enough for your child to feel at ease and to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies offer the option of lying flat, which allows your child to lie flat and face you, while other buggies only allow a face-to-parent one.

A great choice for tackling off-road and muddy trails is the Roma Atlas. The buggy can be used as a single unit from birth, and then expands to accommodate two children as your family grows. Larger wheels

Larger wheels mean that your buggy will be more stable on uneven terrain, which is ideal for off-road buggies. They also make it easier to manoeuvre the pushchair through narrow spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have the front wheels that swivel to help you navigate around tight corners, whereas others are specifically designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability with the speed at which they can be pushed. This can also help if you bump into an unintentional tree root or curb, since the front wheel will rise up a bit to prevent you from hitting it.

Buggies with larger wheels may be quite wide, and can be difficult to fit in tight spaces. This is a problem when you're using it for an exercise bike or to maneuver through narrow doorways when out and out and about. Fortunately, the majority of models come with small folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels to make compact storage.

Easy to Manoeuvre

A three-wheeler can be more maneuverable for a child. The way they are built ensures that the front wheels rotate on a dime and are really maneuverable, making them ideal for difficult terrain like cobbles, parks, bumpy pavements and dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried an all-wheeler with her toddler, and she wrote: "The Terrain is a pleasure to drive in rough terrain. The swivel wheel front was particularly helpful." I was also awed by the way it dealt with kerbs using the hand-operated break. I found it to be extremely stable when driving downhill or on uneven ground."

The only downside to this incredible maneuverability is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel pushchair off road wheel buggy can sometimes make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something to keep in mind when you live in a city. If this is a problem, a 4-wheeled buggy may be a better option for you.

Kath, our MFM reviewer, also adored the space of the buggy. There's a big easy-to-access basket that's quite spacious for a buggy this small as well as an excellent zip-up pouch on the back of the seat unit, and two smaller mesh pockets under the hood to keep your phone and keys.
